You begin planning a Seattle basketball outing and find yourself wondering whether a Jedi would make a reliable teammate. The passing might be excellent. The cryptic advice during a timeout could become tiresome. Before the thought develops into a full coaching philosophy, the University of Washington’s Star Wars Night gives it a practical destination. You can enjoy the meeting of basketball and galactic imagination without taking responsibility for either a training program or a council of unusually solemn referees.

University of Washington Men’s Basketball Star Wars Night takes place at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle on November 29, 2026. The game begins at 4:30pm. Alaska Airlines Arena anchors the event in Seattle, which is much easier to put on a calendar than a hypothetical sporting competition on Coruscant. Set aside the imaginary rulebook and keep the real start time in mind. Your opinions about the Force will survive an afternoon devoted to something else, even if they insist on coming along for the trip.
